I started this business at the beginning of Covid, shortly after leaving my job as a cemetery manager. At the time, we were producing memorial plaques as a sideline business and always tried to offer a quick turnaround time. There was a simple reason for this.

When families bury a parent, it’s common for three or four siblings to fly in from different parts of the world. They often have work or family commitments and need to leave shortly after the burial or ash placement. For them, having everything completed before they return home brings a sense of closure.

But porcelain photos—especially kiln-baked, high-quality ones—take time to produce. As the saying goes, “good food takes time,” and baking quality photos is no different. Most porcelain photo makers wait to fill their kilns completely before firing them, because these ovens use a huge amount of electricity. A full batch is simply more profitable for them.
